How Grades are Weighted
On familyhealthcalc.com, we support the two primary methods used in North American and UK schools:
1. Weighted Categories (Most Common)
Your grade is divided into categories that each represent a percentage of the total.
- Example: Tests (50%), Quizzes (25%), and Homework (25%).
- The Math: Our calculator multiplies your average in each category by its weight and sums them up.
2. Points-Based System
Your grade is simply the total points earned divided by the total points possible.
- Example: 450 points earned out of 500 possible.
- The Result: a 90% (A).
